Senior Services Clients Quality Partners of Rhode Island www.riqualitypartners.org Vital Research recently completed the implementation of the second statewide resident and family satisfaction survey and collaborated with Scripps Gerontology Institute at Miami University and the Benjamin Rose Institute to conduct the surveys. Vital Research, LLC collected the data and analyzed results using over 3,000 face-to-face resident interviews and over 4,000 family surveys in the state's 92 nursing homes. Rhode Island is the third state to mandate face-to-face interviews with nursing home residents for public reporting. Other states that have completed statewide satisfaction surveys with Vital Research using face-to-face interviews for data collection are Minnesota and Ohio. Vital Research provides Kisco Senior Living with a customized survey process, including a menu driven Access database that allows the generation of reports for each of the communities, and includes in-depth demographic analyses. Minnesota Department of Human Services www.dhs.state.mn.us In 2005 and 2006, Vital Research measured resident satisfaction in all 400 nursing home facilities in the state of Minnesota. During the 3-month data collection period in 2005, more than 13,000 residents interviews were completed. The 2006 resident satisfaction and quality of life measurement has just been completed with approximately 14,000 interviews.
